Evening All! I know this is a marathon blog, so I've divided it up into 5 parts! I think it's worth a read.
(But then again, I'm the one who wrote it. So...)
If you have any questions leave them in the comments I'll answer as best I can!
5) Spend time outside; acclimate your body and eyes:
Have you ever stepped out of a nice air-conditioned house, only to realize that you can’t open your eyes and you’re sweating like crazy? That’s your body’s natural reaction to such a drastic change in luminosity and temperature. Our houses are designed to mimic the light levels of twilight on an early spring day. When you step outside, it will take your body quite a lot of time to adjust to its new surroundings.
What do I recommend?
Give yourselves about 30-45 minutes outside, in the shade of one of the lower porches before your photographer is supposed to show up. If you have kids, bring some small. The shade will help your bodies adjust to the surrounding temperature without so much sweat. The indirect sunlight will let your eyes adjust more gradually than if you were thrust directly into the blazing sun. Whatever you do, don’t wear sunglasses (unless you’re planning on wearing them in all the photos), and don’t go back in the house for any length of time as you will reverse all the good you did outside. So bring some chairs, some drinks, maybe a book, and some toys for the kids. And lastly, enjoy!
