Top 5 things to do to prepare for your Outer Banks Family Portraits #3

3)      Pic semi-matching clothing and add your personal flair:
One of the more pressing questions I get asked is “what should we wear?” Most of the time my answer starts with what not to wear. Some things to really stay away from are neon, tie-dye, dark colors like black, shoes, socks, high heels (don’t laugh, we all know THAT aunt), short skirts, short shorts (I’m looking at you dad, the 80’s were almost 30 years ago), excess cleavage… actually let’s just go with anything not appropriate for middle school.
What I do recommend:
Natural bare feet or sandals, shorts that you won’t mind sitting on the beach in, light colors that are the same or at least go together for each person, and lastly, clothing that is quintessentially you. If you are a person that normally wears a button down shirt? Then rock that thing. If you are a person that never wears shorts, then you are in good company. I can personally say that my dad’s legs have never seen the light of day. Whatever you decide to wear, make sure it has your own personal take on it.
